ABOUT US

David Norris:

​

David balances his schedule as an accountant and business consultant in addition to his role as the U20-U16 assistant cross-country ski coach at Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. David is also currently continuing his athletic career as an elite cross-country skier for Team Birkie and mountain runner for On Running. 

 

David received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman and his Master’s in Business Administration while skiing for APU Elite Team in Anchorage, Alaska. He then started his own consulting business, Front Range Financial, which he currently operates and runs.

We are excited to leverage our personal and professional expertise to help our clients navigate  busy schedules while in pursuit of athletic goals. Endurance Training Strategies is founded on an optimistic approach- focusing on what clients can accomplish within time constraints rather than what they can’t.

Throughout David’s educational and business pursuits, he represented the US Ski Team racing on the World Cup and at three World Championships. David is the 2016 and 2022 American Birkebeiner Champion. Every summer he shifts his focus to mountain running; David is a four-time Mt Marathon champion and current record holder, and the 2023 Cirque Series overall winner.

While pursuing her doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of New Mexico, Jessica was the 2020 American Birkebeiner Champion. In her final year of school, she competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

 

Jessica currently works as a Physical Therapist in Steamboat Springs, CO. She has a passion for helping people reach their goals and remain injury free, which has inspired her special interest in strength training and sport-specific prehab. Jessica also coaches higschool Nordic athletes at SSWSC throughout the winter and helps coach the mountain bike team during the summer. She continues to train and race as a Nordic skier while working as a PT and has also started competing in local skimo races. Additionally, she competes in long distance XC mountain bike races and mountain running races throughout the summer months.

Jessica Yeaton:

 

Jessica is a Physical Therapist and two-time Olympian for cross-country skiing. She balanced work and academics while skiing for Montana State University and the Alaska Pacific University Elite Team. During this time, she was the 2018 Mount Marathon Champion, competed in three World Championships, had multiple top 30 results on the World Cup, and represented Australia at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Skylar has experience providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for various disease states and medical conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight management, disordered eating and eating disorders. Her areas of expertise within nutrition include sports and performance nutrition, gastrointestinal health, and disordered eating/eating disorders. Skylar also formulated and led a research project investigating cardiorespiratory response and substrate utilization across the menstrual cycle phases for female endurance athletes during grad school.

 

Outside of work, she maintains an active lifestyle playing in the mountains of Colorado and beyond. Growing up in Steamboat Springs, CO instilled a passion and love for mountain sports, including trail running, Nordic and downhill skiing, snowboarding, and biking. When she’s not moving her body, you can find her whipping up wholesome dishes and baked goods for friends and family.

Skylar Weir:

Prior to pursuing her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Metropolitan State University of Denver, Skylar worked for several years as a water resources engineer after attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering. After graduate school, she completed a 10-month long clinically focused Dietetic Internship with UC San Diego Health hospital system to become licensed as a Registered Dietitian. Her own personal health journey inspired her career pivot and fierce passion for the science of nutrition. She values supporting others in optimizing their relationship with food and body in an approachable, balanced, and sustainable way.
